Values and Beliefs


Approaching Thunder is a local Church based ministry led by Kristen Williams. As a ministry we are under the oversight of Seth Fawcet (Hope Centre, Lower Hutt, New Zealand), Wayne Anderson and Kevin Ford (International Apostolic Ministries, USA.)  Approaching Thunder exists because we believe that there is a generation alive today who are called by God to change the world! 

We pursue the goal of equipping young adults to relentlessly pursue Jesus and His purposes for this generation. We aim to see leaders raised up and to inspire young people to play their part in the Great Commission. We believe that this is an amazing time in history to be alive! That these are days when God is moving powerfully across the earth, and that He has huge and unimaginable plans for every person alive. We believe that Jesus extends to this generation the same invitation that He extended to His disciples... FOLLOW ... and that those who truly follow will impact the nations with the powerful reality of the Gospel 

Every ministry has things that they believe... core values that motivate what they do... here are ours.

We believe that the Bible is God's inspired Word. 

We believe in one God who exists in three distinct beings - Father, Son and Holy Spirit, equal in honour and power. 

We believe that the first and greatest commandment (Matt22:37 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind') is to be in first place in the life of every believer.

We believe that Jesus is God's only Son. We believe He came to earth to rescue mankind. He was fully human yet had all the fullness of God in him, lived a sinless life, and offered Himself as a sacrifice for our sin. He was crucified, died, and rose from the dead three days later. We believe that every person was created for relationship with God, and that although each of us will sin, through the death and resurrection of Jesus we can enter into relationship with God.

We believe that the Holy Spirit moves and speaks today to anyone who seeks Him.

We believe that in response to faith, the Holy Spirit releases signs, wonders and miracles to win the lost and to amaze and inspire the saints.

We anticipate and relentlessly pursue revival.

We believe in the Ascension Gift Ministries described in Ephesians 4. We believe that Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers have been given by God to equip the saints until the Church reaches fullness in Christ.

We believe that God desires for all to be saved, and that every believer is called to be a part of fulfilling the Great Commission.

We believe in the Second Coming of Christ and that we are living in the last days before His return
