Intentional Risk Taking
Jul 16, 2010

The nature of faith, is that it involves risk! We believe though we do not yet see. We move forward even though the road may not always be clear. We take a step, even though it can often seem that success is in no way assured.

Heb11:1 'Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.'

For Peter, faith involved stepping out of the boat onto a stormy sea. For Abraham, faith was believing that the impossible was possible. For David, faith brought down the giant... the list goes on and on. By faith in God and His Word great exploits have been done, lives and nations have been changed. And now the baton of faith is passed to a new generation of emerging leaders. On that baton are the fingerprints of great men and women of God like Daniel, Jeremiah, Esther and Ezekiel. People who on many occasions risked it all to see God's will being done 'on earth as it is in heaven.'

Now it is our turn Faith often involves INTENTIONAL RISK TAKING. Simply stepping out of our comfort zone and doing something we would normally avoid doing. Speaking to a stranger about the reality of Jesus. Praying for a person who is unwell. Hearing from heaven and humbly speaking what God is saying to a person or situation. Inviting someone to come to a Church or Life Group meeting. Faith is about deliberately positioning yourself for the unlikely or even impossible to happen... and afterwards, knowing that there was no way you could have done it yourself. That is how testimonies are made!

Give it a go! Take an intentional risk! It is time to get out of the boat and walk on the water How will you know, unless you give it a go
